After a thriller which lasted all night, Barack Obama was declared re-elected as president of the United States by most of the mainstream American media, shortly before 11: 30.

The CNN network gave 275 electors to Obama and Romney to 203, with 49% of the total popular vote in Obama, and 50% to Romney. The United States therefore remains a deeply divided country.
